It’s not unheard of for lawsuits and crisis management to go hand in hand. Although I’ve done a crisis strategy brief on the Apoca-lipstick, I wanted to share this video that covers possible legal ramifications. As crisis PR professionals, it’s very important to have some legal knowledge. Therefore, keep that in mind while watching the video.

Cosmetics, crisis, and the law are things that really interest me, especially cosmetic regulation. However, when it comes to this particular issue, it doesn’t seem like there could be a valid lawsuit against Jaclyn. That doesn’t mean the court of public opinion should be forgotten about. If people are finding hair and other things in the lipsticks, that’s bound to get the public feeling a certain way. So although Jaclyn might be off the hook legally, she definitely needs a strong crisis comms strategy if she’s going to have a fighting chance after this scandal.
